I have moved into this Historical Community, Mount Dennis! I have been an educator for almost thirty years and have empowered children’s lives! I believe readers are leaders! I have planned a Reading Program as well as Regular Tutoring Sessions of Grammar, Science, Mathematics and French at my centre. We are teachers at my centre, working as tutors for children in the community. We have many years of experience and are very competent. All programs are based on the Ontario Curriculum at my centre.
For Parents: You can be involved at all times with the importance of reading. As parents and caregivers, you can become a powerful influence on your child’s success in reading. Try to make reading together a daily routine that your child looks forward to. Take your child to the community library, sit and read together! Your child will learn that time spent reading together is a priority in your home. Reading with your child can open the door to a lifelong interest in stories and books! You will learn about your child’s interests and their reading abilities. ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO READ! During reading, encourage your chld to look at the pictures and predict what will happen next. After rading, encourage your child to discuss events, characters and ideas in the story.
